#2 - something I've made - christmas calendars

Saturday, November 02, 2013

I have a Christmas present tradition. Every year I make my loved ones 2014 calendars as a Christmas pressie, and this year is no exception. So last night when I arrived home from work and found a big box on our doorstep with my name on it I was very excited.

The 2014 Christmas calendars that I've spent the last few weeks choosing photos for and putting together had arrived!!

I know for some of you it's probably a bit to early to be talking about Christmas - but when you live on the other side of the world from your family you can never be too organised. I love making calendars because:

  1. my parents and family really seem to love them. When we skype on Christmas day they're often teasing each other or me about some of the pics I've chosen.
  2. they are so personal, and last a full year.
  3. they are super easy /cheap / fast to post.
Making them this year was especially enjoyable as I had our wedding photos to choose from, and also pics from a family holiday to make the most of.

If you want to do the same pull together thirteen of your best prints (high res, and good quality), and then upload. I used VistaPrint to have mine printed, and the quality is really good.

Ta da......

  1. What a lovely idea! So personal as well. I'm planning on homemade/handmade presents this year - I think it will show more though than just buying something.

  6. What a great present idea! You're so organised... I've not even started thinking about Christmas presents yet... or at least whenever I do, I feel a tinge of dread!
