It's the end of June and still pretty chilly in London but we were determined not to let the cold get the better of us this weekend and decided to visit Hampstead Heath.
'The Heath' as I like to refer to this massive parkland is a great place to go in London when you don't want to feel like you're in London.
Wander further far away from Parliament Hill and you'll soon get lost within the tall trees, empty clearings and winding paths...
... so much leafy greenness goodness at the moment
and only a single lone runner to share it all with
empty clearing all to ourselves
We stumbled upon a lovely secluded spot amongst the trees and birds - perfect to catch some quiet time. I'm currently reading The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell, also author of The Cloud Atlas...
... and then wouldn't you know it, as we left The Heath we wandered by the house that George Orwell once lived.
