happy new year 2014 - and resolutionsSaturday, January 04, 2014
Well, we made it. Happy 2014 everyone!! I hope you had an amazing time celebrating and doing something you love, with people you love.
I have just spent the last five days in Marrakech, which for me was the perfect place to reflect on the year that was 2013, and begin to make some plans for this year. Morocco itself is a humbling country for any 'westerner' to visit - and as a bonus it has a hugely rich culture that is amazing to learn about and explore.
- Make London home. Even though I've lived in London for over four years now I've always treated the city as temporary - refusing to buy any furniture or household items I can't fit in a suitcase, registering to vote or doing anything else that feels permanent. However the reality is that I will be in London for at least another two years, so I want to make the most of it. First up - we will flat hunting for a much nicer abode come March, that will hopefully feel a lot more 'homely'.
- Turn this blog into a regular feature. Blog more regularly, find my voice, style and brand (while keeping the enjoyment). To kick start this resolution I've signed up for Rosalilium's Big Blogging Bootcamp E-Course. Fingers crossed this gives me the kick start I need.
- Kick my sugar habit. Although I lead a pretty healthy lifestyle - being a gym junkie and all round-healthy eater, I do have a soft spot for sweet things that normally takes control at about 10pm each day (oh my!). This year I want to cut back on sugary snacking - at least during the week. Weekends will still be allowed of course.
- Work. I have a long list of things I want to achieve at work this year, but will spare you the details here.
