personalised wedding jewellery

Last week I shared how my hubby and I added some Japanese touches to our wedding with handmade origami cranes and hearts. But the truth is that our Japanese theme didn't end just there. There were lots of other details influenced by the theme throughout our wedding day, including a photo booth with Japanese themed props, mentions in our table postcards, and lastly -  my bridesmaids jewellery.

I had two beautiful bridesmaids - one which flew back to New Zealand with me from London (how's that for friendship!). And I really wanted to give them something special to say 'thank you for being here with me' that would be unique to our wedding.

So I commissioned some simple jewellery to be made with the left over scraps of washi paper from our invitations and origami...

Thankfully they both loved the matching necklace and earring sets, and still wear them today. I loved them so much myself that I end up getting a set too - using the left over light blue washi paper...

A little reminder of our wedding day that I wear regularly :)
