photo friday - Hyde Park London

Friday, February 14, 2014

I blog a lot about Hyde Park. I know. But to be fair it's my favourite place in London and it's right on my doorstep - so I do spend a lot of time there.

This London winter has been unseasonably warm - it's my first winter in London with no snow.

I took this photo last Saturday while out for a walk, and just look at the sky and sunlight!! Gorgeous.

Now here's a photo of me this time last year in Hyde Park. Quite a difference, no?

This crazy weather!!!! (Not that I'm complaining). Bring on Spring time and the beautiful Hyde Park cherry blossoms I say :)

Oh, and Happy Valentine's day if you're celebrating.

  4. Hi there! Just stopping by from the Photography Friday Link-Up! Great shot of Hyde Park. I used to live in London for about a year a while ago and I've always loved going to Hyde Park. Battersea Park is another favorite of mine!

I am now back in Germany, where I am from, and we have a very unusual winter here as well! Almost no snow while we had loads of it last winter...

    Wish you a great weekend!!!

    1. You too Jana! I also really like Battersea Park - one of my good friends lives over that way and we often have picnics there in summer. Happy V Day!

  5. I love Hyde Park, too! I live in Peterborough (which is only 50 mins away but Londoners seem to think we're in Scotland ;) ) so I pop down often to explore various parts of the city. Found you on the friday link up! Looking forward to seeing many more posts from you and reading about your London adventures :)

  6. Wow! What a difference! Still both beautiful. Although I love the feeling of spring, have no snow in an area that usually does scares me.
Happy Friday! Have a good weekend :)

    1. Changing weather patterns scares me a bit too, but I'm trying to make the most of it. On my way out to Hyde Park now actually for a sunny morning run :)....

    1. This year the UK has made up for lack of snow with buckets or rain and flooding everywhere. I think lots of people would have preferred the white stuff. Oh well.

  8. Great shots--I can see why it's a favorite place! I hope the flooding missed your part of town.

    1. Thankfully London hasn't really been effected by the flooding - tube strikes are more my worry!

  12. It's been the first winter that I have been prepared for snow. New wellies, new coat, a sled for the kids and what happens? We get nothing!
