Chez bob - delicious all day brunch in Belsize Park

Saturday, March 01, 2014

So, ahem, I was wrong.

After boldly stating last Saturday that I find London a bit rubbish for brunching I headed out to flat hunt and came across the best French Toast I've had in ages. Thanks to the friendly staff and talented cook at Chez Bob in Belsize Park near Hapstead.

Hubby and I had been on our feet traipsing around the streets looking at, well lets face it pretty crappy apartments for too many hours, so this lovely little café/restaurant was the perfect spot to refuel.

I wasn't the only one content to put feet up and watch the world go by...

Energy levels were low so first up - I had a caffeine hit in the shape of a very tasty latte.

And then we got down to business.  For me - French toast, served with cherry compote, Greek yoghurt and maple syrup. It was out-of-the-water amazing! Think crisp edges, soft centre, the perfect amount of sweetness contrasted with tangy yoghurt.

For hubby - 'Bubble Benedict' - bubble ‘n’ squeak, maple bacon, poached eggs and bearnaise sauce.

A very tasty way to complete our afternoon. Cheers Chez bob!!
