photo Friday - Peter Rabbit & Mr Mcgregor's garden

Friday, May 30, 2014

Last Monday I was standing in Mr Mcgregor's garden at The World of Beatrix Potter. Oh happy day. And such a fab way to re-live my childhood. I left with such a huge smile on my face!!

Look  - there's Peter Rabbit's jacket in the garden...

If you've got kids, or are just a big kid at heart yourself then I would thoroughly recommend visiting The World of Beatrix Potter on an outing. As well as being reminded of all her beautiful stories that I used to love growing up, I also learnt a lot about the lady herself - and what an inspirational woman she was. Well ahead of her time.

Wonder what mischief I'll get up to this weekend?

    1. In that case you should definitely pencil this into your diary at some stage. It's not a big museum but very delightful and you get to see all the story characters set up in scenes from the tales.

I've been to the Lake District 3 times and each time have managed to unintentionally miss going. I'm determined to make it to the Beatrix Potter museum next time. Given my last name, as a kid, I always imagined Mr McGregor looking like my dad or my uncle and kind of rooted for both him and Peter as a result!

  6. English gardens. Oh, English gardens. Despite living in the utterly glorious world of Japanese gardens, I do miss the profusion and wildness and naturalness of English gardens so much!

PS: Japan is OBSESSED with Beatrix Potter.
