I'm home!! + my fav Japan travel photo

Wednesday, July 02, 2014

Well hello. The last two and half weeks have flown by and after the most amazing travel break away, and I am now back home in London.

I absolutely can't wait to tell you all the details - Ko Phi Phi in Thailand was some amazing beach down time, and Japan as always was the perfect host... but I need to catch up on my sleep first. Going straight back to work after stepping off a 12-hour flight really takes it out of you.

So today I will leave you with one of my favourite Japan travel photos. I snapped this photo over eight years ago while visiting Ginkakuji (銀閣寺) - also very well known as the Silver Pavilion in Kyoto.

Ginkakuji - the Silver Pavilion, Kyoto

One of the amazing things about visiting Kyoto is the amount of people you see wandering around in Yukata - there's such a lovely old and traditional feel to the city. So seeing a woman dressed this way is not too unusual, however I just loved the way the sunlight was hitting her face at this precise moment and I often wonder what she was thinking about at the time.

Much more of Japan to come soon....

Thanks to Kelly, Rebecca and Emma for the lovely 'favourite travel photo' link up.
