living the sweet life - strawberry picking in Grande Prairie, CanadaMonday, September 14, 2015
There are lots of types of travel - adventure, backpacking, luxury, city break, beach bum break, yoga retreat... I could go on and on. Over the years I've tried the lot and every time I get on a plane I feel like a child again, full or excitement and anticipation.
There is one type of travel though that I don't often get an opportunity to experience, and that's the traditional family holiday. A time to relax, catch up and take part in some wholesome activities that everyone enjoys.
So when hubby and I were visiting with the Canadian side of his family in Grande Prairie, Canada this summer and his cousin offered to take us strawberry picking I was all in. Woop! Who doesn't love strawberries?
Kodai was enjoying the strawberries too... (baby bump or strawberry bump?)
All in all it was a great day out, and we came home with eight buckets of juicy strawberries that we spent that evening and the next day turning into strawberry jam and jelly. Yum.
I still have one jar of the jam in my fridge here in London. It's a special treat that has come out only on the weekends since returning to the UK.
Do you have any favourite family holiday memories?
