Introducing baby 'LJ'
& Happy New Year!

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

Well hello there and Happy New Year! I trust you all had a fantastic Christmas season and hopefully managed to squeeze in some travel even if it was just going home to see the folks.

Christmas was a little bit different for us this year - sleepless nights, a traditional turkey and not a flight in sight. In fact it was our very first Christmas in many years where we stayed put in London and didn't go anywhere. Why? Well I'd like to introduce you to my daughter (previously known as Kodai), baby LJ who arrived happy, healthy and a full five days late at the end of November...

... needless to say both hubby and I are besotted. Life will never be the same again. She is the apple of my eye.

As well as having a baby just before Christmas hubby and I also bought a house and moved in a week before baby LJ arrived!

We are now permanent residents of E17 in London and I have spent many days exploring my new neighbourhood on foot with LJ in tow. Luckily many of our new neighbours were in the Christmas spirit and kept me entertained. Check out this front garden I found one day, and note the Frozen themed display bottom right corner!

Having a baby really wears you out! Prior to LJ arriving I had so many Christmas plans, including lots of blog posts but very little was actually executed. Such is life.

We did however manage a few special Christmas outings including to the fabulous London Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park, which is something I've visited every Christmas since moving to London for an annual glühwein (mulled red wine) and bratwurst (German sausage).

I am now busy settling into 'motherhood', enjoying the smiles and organising baby LJ her first passport so I can wizz her off to meet her grandparents in New Zealand very soon.

    1. Thanks Jenna. I hope so - but I already also kind of hope she won't end up living too far from home when she's older.
